The world just screams and falls apart

Yesterday i was watching the crazy ass trevis cullen play an open mic at a coffee shop, and there was original art hanging up. but how original was it? well two had these egg things that are dripping on each other with snakes in one. ok i haven't seen a ton like that but way too many that are quite similar and then there was a painting of like snow white it looked like but it was just like, ummm i can tell that you are into picaso maybe a little too much and another one was just a complete rip off of jaun miro, like really just completely ripped him off and it is like, come on i can see that you can paint but why don't you paint your own thing instead of doing the same thing has been done. i mean art is suppose to progress not take steps back. and i understand it is hard to do but is it really nessacery to rip someone else off (especially masters because i understand that you have to get inspiration and who better than jaun miro and picasso) and try and sell it? i am very disapointed in my local art scene because the biggest percentages of paintings that i have seen are all rip offs just nothing original and its like fine i understand it is different because they did it and no two people can create exactly the same things its just impossible, but art isn't about being the best painter or the best at drawing with enough time and practice anyone can become a great painter, but very few have what it takes to become a true artist we don't need another jaun miro or pablo picasso we have already had them but when you take art work of theres and make it yours it is still not your vision it is still theirs and no one will be able to pull it off the way they do they came up with these concepts of weird things to paint so let them paint them and take inspiration from them but realize that is there style and being an artist is all about your vision not someone elses we don't look back on them and say oh such a good painter (they are good painters but if someone else was painting the same things they would not be so significant it would just be the same old crap) it is the originality in what they thought a painting is. so why don't you just paint to paint not to be good but just because you love it. In my opinion you wont go any where with your art if you are really just trying to sell. just let things happen do you think all the artists we look up to and admire cared what anyone thought about there paintings? when you start to get self concious just realize people love you for you not for trying to do something that has been done. the great thing about art of any kind is that it came from an imperfect human and for a second we get to view into the mind of someone else's non distorted vision. all the things you hate about your art are probably the things that some people most love so next time you screw something up on a piece just roll with it make that mistake the most important part. mistakes are usually better then we thing thats how we find new ways to do things. so next time you paint or draw please just start painting and don't stop untill you are satisfied and if someone tells you to change something don't. its not that paint that we are interested its the vision!
